Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus, but a portfolio showing your skills is way more important.
- 3+ years of experience as a graphic designer or Art Director on either the in-house or agency side, we’re not picky.
- Fluent in Adobe suite (your friends are Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.) Other software knowledge is great, too! We love After Effects, Figma, and Google Docs/Slides/etc.
- Confidence in presenting work to our immediate team and other stakeholders. We don’t bite! And Chris probably isn’t listening anyways.
- Attention to all the details. You’re like a detail detective, and you’re always hot on the trail.
- Ability to concept and design quickly and share progress openly and frequently
- You have strong time-management skills and can juggle multiple projects and stakeholder feedback while remaining flexible through revisions and competing priorities.
Responsibilities
- Work together with the other freakishly talented members of the creative team to produce work that hits the brief, inspires people to travel responsibly, and elevates the G Adventures brand into the exosphere.
- Be comfortable brainstorming, conceptualizing, designing, and doing so many other things for a wide range of projects. Heads up: this includes the technical parts of print production.
- You’ll operate at both a strategic and hands-on level, bringing a well-trained design eye to refine the craft, consistency, and quality of the G Adventures brand.
- Be a champion and guardian of all-things brand. Our colours, our type, our style of photography; you know what’s right, and can pick out a purple that’s a teensy-tiny bit off.
- Balance global and regional priorities so deadlines are met and the ol’ machine keeps running smoothly.
- Figure out how to use our project management software (ClickUp) so your desk doesn’t have to be covered in post-it notes.
- Working at a collaborative level with the creative team-leads to manage daily, weekly, and long-term project deadlines for all internal requests.
- Maintain strong, positive working relationships with internal departments and stakeholders, engaging them through the design process with brainstorming, creative briefs, execution options and mock-ups to assist in achieving their desired result – including welcoming feedback and being proficient at incorporating it with minimal oversight.
- Work with confidence and always put strategy and rationale into every decision.
- Inspire and coach other designers on the internal team to help them work effectively and efficiently, and provide guidance and feedback to help them grow creatively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bonus handy skills to have, but not at all necessary: illustration, motion, web design, email design, fluent in German or French.
