Requirements

  • Five to seven years of import/export experience
  • Knowledge of export regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
  • Experience using global trade systems
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Information Science, or other related field or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assessing current trade compliance, identifying gaps and developing a plan and timeline to address and meet Export regulations and other agency requirements
  • Follow BD SOP, managing daily export transactions to ensure the on-time, compliant clearance and delivery
  • Responsible for classifying exported goods with HTS codes and Partner Government Agency (PGA) data per export scenarios
  • Responsible for obtaining product details from business SME’s for HTS classification and required PGA data from Regulatory
  • Validate accuracy of commercial invoice(s) to comply with Customs requirements including, but not limited to, importer of record, country of origin, valuation, Incoterms and currency
  • Provide clearance instructions to brokers in a timely manner
  • Monitor shipments’ release status
  • Coordinate with various third parties, including brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, truckers, DC’s and Customer locations for on-time clearance and delivery
  • Provide instructions to shippers re: BD import process, to ship properly with required documentation and expected ways of communications
  • Conduct audits of export entries to ensure shippers entry filing is accurate and compliant
  • Support trade systems master data activities to include classification of materials (HTS, ECCN) as well as dataload support for critical integration projects
  • Update HTS and ECCN assignments in accordance with U.S. Customs changes
  • Manage data provider and work closely with IT to ensure U.S. Customs updates are uploaded into the system(s)
  • Work closely with IT on trade systems demands and testing
  • Review, update and socialize Manual and automated Invoice SOPs
  • Train BD associates on the SOP and how to complete the invoice
  • Maintain and validate license information for licensable shipments
  • Review blocked documents including embargo and technically incomplete documents
  • Review and troubleshoot incomplete export declarations
  • Review and correct errors from AES, including fatal and compliance errors
  • Support Regulatory by creating blocks in GTS for SKUs that cannot be exported
  • Other duties as assigned by manager
