As the Global Sourcing Category Manager you will be working with our suppliers and managing approximately $15M in spend, negotiating and managing supplier contracts, and furthering our mission of a Home for All.
Position location: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule based out of Deerfield, IL (3 days in office). Effective mid-2025, Fortune Brands will transition to a new world-class campus in Deerfield, bringing together associates from across our U.S. offices, brands, and functions. The campus will offer vibrant workspaces for collaboration, along with amenities for dining, onsite daycare, fitness and recreation.
RESPONSIBLIITIES:
- Manage an annual turnover in spend, create and implement category strategies supported by a strong understanding of Fortune Brands Innovations (FBIN) strategies, FBIN’s competition, and the industry.
- Meet or exceed goals of the annual cost savings program. Scope and create projects for productivity enhancement, risk mitigation, capability/capacity enhancement. Collaborate with Analytics team to develop category savings approach utilizing the Strategic Sourcing model.
- Assist in developing, leading and manage category/supply chain strategy and supply base for FBIN. Ensure coordination with FBIN Platforms and Innovation teams on key project and product development.
- Lead projects to resource, award components to support sourcing strategies while ensuring all project milestone tasks are completed on-time.
- Ensure suppliers comply with FBIN’s code-of-conduct program (e.g., Global Citizenship, Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct).
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to achieve strategic initiatives by improving supplier performance through the utilization of FBIN’s supplier scorecard and the development of continuous improvement action plans as required.
- Support the sustainability of FBIN’s Risk Management program—understand supplier capabilities, financial health, operational performance and impact to WINN business.
- Provide the voice of the supply base to FBIN while being the voice of FBIN to the supply base.
- Lead RFQ, Supplier selection, negotiation and award execution through the stages of PPAP, FAIR and Production sample run.
- Collaborate with functional areas like Master Scheduling, Planning, Manufacturing plants, Distribution Centers and External suppliers to ensure customer expectations are met.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a supply chain function
- Prior project management experience leading a cross-functional team to achieve a desired goal
- General knowledge and understanding of commercial fastener industry
- Analytical, negotiating and relationship skills
- Working knowledge of ERP, Microsoft Office Suites
- Strategic thinking: ability to be forward-looking, see the possibilities and set a long-term SMART goals
- Must be able to travel up to up to 20% of the time (domestically and internationally) for supplier visits, business audits, and overall category education

- Experience with Supplier Qualification development and processes
