Requirements
- 2+ years of related experience working with various GIS data in desktop GIS software or similar
- Working experience in data manipulation with Python scripting language
- Experience performing advanced SQL queries and complex joins with spatial data
- Detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work with a diverse team
- Strong GIS troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Ability to manage priorities and tasks as needed in a fast-paced work environment
- Bachelor’s in computer science, applied mathematics, GIS, geography, or a related field
Responsibilities
- Evaluate data contributions for the Community Maps for Addresses program
- Provide technical feedback to contributors to guide their address contribution process
- Convert, upload and implement data into the master database
- Support workflow improvement in the aspect of automation and dashboard administration as needed
- Research potential authoritative open-data sources for geocoding data around the world
- Work with other teams to secure data procurement
- Evaluate and support implementation of the datasets for use in our geocoding solution
- Analyze geocoding issues reported through Geocoding Feedback Map
- Report issues to the data vendor or communicate with the team to resolve the issue
- Build test cases and monitor the issue to ensure appropriate solution is provided
- Support data and software testing initiatives and variants review
- Support the Geocoding team with other miscellaneous tasks to improve Esri geocoding experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Geocoding experience with ArcGIS Desktop and the ArcGIS Online Geocoding Service
- Experience with software testing and data quality control
- Experience working with task management system such as Triage and GitHub
- Master’s in computer science, applied mathematics, GIS, geography, or a related field
