Requirements
- BS/BA in GIS, Geography, Cartography, Computer Science or other related field.
- Middle level shall have at least 6 years and senior level shall have at least 10 years of experience in GIS and related development.
- Experience in GIS concepts, computer graphics fundamentals, and relational database fundamentals and concepts is essential.
- Must have experience in the development of complex analysis and mapping projects.
- Must be proficient in the coding of software and manipulating digital databases as well as using GIS programming languages, Internet markup languages, and other, pertinent technologies.
- Must have the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical computer users, both orally and in writing.
- Due to the nature of the work we support, all candidates in consideration for this role must be U.S. Citizens willing to undergo the government issued background investigation process.
Responsibilities
- Full-time support.
- Staff in this category work independently to develop GIS tools and applications, perform complex analyses, and develop multi-layered maps accomplished by using an appropriate combination of tools found in the GIS application suite and other programming environments.
- Design and implement data conversion procedures and perform software and database quality control.
- Work closely with the GIS user community to determine specific application requirements and specifications.
- Perform project planning, requirements analysis, database design and development, and quality assurance and quality control.
- All other duties as assigned.
