Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required.
- 8 years of relevant work experience is required for Solution Engineer Staff (SG9).
- 10 years of relevant work experience is required for Solution Engineer Lead (SG10).
- An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
Responsibilities
- Provide support for Automatic Generation Control (AGC).
- Troubleshoot the operational SCADA environment to ensure optimized monitoring and reliable system reporting.
- Maintain custom database configurations for Monarch.
- Be available for on-call support after hours (24/7) on a rotational basis.
- Develop advanced solutions to address customer and prospective customer issues in a logical, creative, and structured manner.
- Align client goals, needs, and objectives with appropriate solutions.
- Communicate issues and status updates in a clear and timely manner.
- Interpret specifications and build advanced solutions that meet those specifications.
- Collaborate on business strategy by serving as an expert on the company’s services and products, including usage, architecture, functionality, and deployment.
- Create custom presentations and demonstrations for diverse audiences.
- Generate infrastructure support documentation.
- Prepare proposals and write responses for Requests for Proposal (RFPs).
- Evaluate and propose advanced process improvements.
- Maintain expert knowledge of the company’s software and hardware products.
- Provide training, mentoring, and work direction to other team members as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of verifiable experience in supporting the OSI Monarch SCADA systems.
- Understanding of NERC CIP security principles.
- Familiarity with WAN and VPN concepts.
- Basic understanding of the C programming language.
- Knowledge of communication protocols (DNP3, Modbus, ICCP).
- Desired understanding of ladder logic.
- Knowledge of Remote Terminal Units (RTUs).
