Generation Controller

2+ years of energy (or related industry) experience preferred
Strong organization skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Able to work 12 hour shifts which includes working nights, weekends, and holidays to ensure 24 hour coverage of trading desk
Experience, understanding and responding to power market fundamentals
Ability to demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills and participate in solution implementation
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to be a self-starter capable of working effectively in a high energy, high stress, fast paced environment
Detail oriented and able to effectively work under deadlines
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to above skills

Interacts daily with both the DA and Cash traders on strategy implementation
Anticipates and responds to changing system conditions for balancing energy deployments to effectively and economically dispatch fleet
Recognizes changing market conditions and initiates appropriate action within own area of focus to balance fleet position
Optimize gas burn strategies across ISONE and NYISO markets by aligning unit dispatch with real-time fuel economics, pipeline constraints, and market conditions
Coordinate closely with the Gas Supply team to align nominations, manage intra-day flow changes, and ensure compliance with contractual limits
Respond to OFO (Operational Flow Order) gas restrictions, minimizing exposure to imbalances and avoiding non-compliance penalties
Maintain clear, timely communication with Plant Operations and Gas Logistics to ensure reliable fuel availability and operational flexibility
Assess risk exposure tied to gas limitations, balancing market opportunity with fuel security under high-demand or constrained system conditions
Operate effectively in high-pressure environments, especially during peak demand, fuel disruptions, or reliability event declarations
Contribute to the enhancement of gas-electric coordination tools and processes, improving both commercial and operational outcomes
