Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in driving commercial growth of a business. Any experience in marketing, business development, and/or P&L management is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional teams, capable of overseeing multiple people across different functions and levels of seniority
  • Comfortable working heavily with data, and operating at a fast pace in an entrepreneurial environment. Experience working in a startup is a plus, especially a marketplace platform
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills, and comfortable presenting to large groups regularly
  • An exceptional ability to balance creative thinking with strong business judgment and analytical skills
  • Problem-solving abilities in both data-rich and data-poor environments; ability to both delve into the details and engage meaningfully on higher-level strategy
  • A natural inclination to take initiative and ownership, with the ability to independently navigate ambiguous situations and balance multiple priorities
  • Role includes some travel within Canada and occasional travel to the United States

Responsibilities

  • P&L responsibility for the Canada business
  • Set the vision for the Canada team that covers marketing, partnerships, supply, and fulfilment
  • Accountable for both sides of the marketplace: generating demand as well as ensuring strong supply health and task fulfilment
  • Responsible for value propositions on both sides of the marketplace
  • Shape the Canada strategy to deliver core commercial goals including revenue and contribution margin
  • Oversee all tactical and operational execution for all functions within Canada
  • Own market expansion and localization strategy, including the development of city-specific go-to-market strategies and localization of Taskrabbit’s offering
  • Drive local/cultural marketing ideas, initiatives, and channels to increase brand awareness, in partnership with marketing
  • Identify and pursue potential external partners to help grow the Canadian business, in collaboration with the global partnerships team
  • Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to action on key market opportunities
  • Manage on-the-ground initiatives that optimise and improve local fulfilment, supply activation, and client retention

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual French and English
  • An understanding of the dynamics underlying a two-sided marketplace
  • Experience working for a global brand
