Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
- 1 or more years of experience leading a technical team, developing team skills, and mentoring technical employees
- 1 or more years of experience leading projects of the moderate to advanced complexity, with a history of being on time and on budget
- 1 or more years of experience in Data mining, using systems such as SQL/Python/Minitab
Responsibilities
- Serves as both the technical lead and personnel lead for engineers and technicians on the team. Serves/trains to serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for CVD/SSC processing
- Actively improves and implements new processes and standards that will have impact on the achievement of efficient flow and effective throughput results
- Maintain a high commitment to quality, thoroughness, and efficiency in all work aspects
- Responsible for leading team that has a crucial role within major project teams in design and commissioning of new Distributed Control System (DCS) and Expansion furnaces, and their related support systems
- Take an active role in meeting department and site Lean Manufacturing/CORE requirements. This includes business requirements to increase current capacity ahead of 2027
- Leads execution of operational plans in support of policy deployment goals and initiatives for the organization
- Participates in projects/transformations/kaizen events with groups internal and external to the program
- Actively participates/leads in resolution of difficult or complex problems
- Ensures strong communication and support with the Operators in a “line-back” approach to facilitate effective change and sustainability
- Ensure standard operating procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), and Engineering Forms (EFs) are thorough, accurate, effective, and up to date as well as understanding use of P&IDs
- Interface with site DCS, learn process control fundamentals, and support advancement in department controls systems
- Participates in identifying and sharing best practices across the organization
- Builds networks across the organization and discipline
- Identifies knowledge gaps within the team and supports closure plan
- Directly responsible process safety and environmental compliance in relation to the Textile and Furnace Deck processes
Preferred Qualifications
- Manufacturing engineering/process engineering experience
- Experience working with Distributed Control Systems
- Knowledge of process control basics and chemical processing unit operations
- Continuous Improvement/Lean/Six Sigma or equivalent experience
- Cross functional work experience (e. g. Operations, Materials Mgmt. Quality, Business Processes, Supply Chain)
- Previous experience leading and influencing others
- Experience leading and facilitating meetings and events to various levels of the organization
