Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience designing outerwear, ideally within licensed and/or branded womenswear.
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabrications, trims, and technical design.
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and related design tools; experience with PLM systems a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
Responsibilities
- Research market trends and outerwear direction, identifying key fabrics, silhouettes, hardware, trims, and construction details.
- Develop seasonal outerwear collections that align with brand positioning and meet the needs of off-price retailers.
- Create detailed technical sketches, CADs, and tech packs for outerwear styles across a range of classifications.
- Collaborate with licensing partners to ensure all designs meet brand standards while delivering innovative, trend-right product.
- Support alignment across internal and external teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Lead the design process for outerwear from concept through to SMS, ensuring adherence to cost, quality, and timeline goals.
- Partner with technical design and factory teams to address construction and fit challenges and ensure feasibility of designs.
- Tailor designs and presentations for off-price retail partners, incorporating feedback while maintaining brand integrity.
- Support seasonal presentations and development meetings alongside merchandising and sales.
- Work with sales, merchandising, and sourcing to develop cohesive, brand-right assortments that support business objectives.
- Monitor performance of outerwear styles in the market and use insights to inform future design direction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing for the off-price market is highly preferred.
