Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Five or more years of relevant community engagement knowledge, experience, and local relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, proactively identifying opportunities for community engagement and addressing challenges without requiring constant supervision.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and stakeholders.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
Responsibilities
- Working with Foundation Board to fulfill the organization mission. Developing agendas, related documentation, and minutes for meetings.
- Reviewing grant applications, preparing for and leading grant recommendation process for Invesco Foundation and/or support from Invesco directly.
- Aligning giving with philanthropy strategy and maximizing impact. Coordinating notification of approved grants to grantees and supporting ongoing donor relationships.
- Assisting in maintaining Foundation records to meet audit and IRS requirements.
- Meeting regularly with local community groups and non-profits to explore and connect to sources of funding as well as form a forward view of upcoming capital campaigns. Representing Invesco in the community at events, tours, ribbon cuttings, and grand openings.
- Managing the budget for community affairs and foundation activities, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Working closely with Employee Experience to help identify employee volunteer opportunities for Invesco Cares and Business Resource Groups. Collaborating with Marketing when sponsorship opportunities arise for their consideration.
- Collaborating with organizations and colleagues in other major Invesco markets (e.g. Houston, NYC, Chicago) as opportunities arise.
Preferred Qualifications
- Philanthropic giving experience is highly preferred.
