Requirements
- Driver’s License (Required)
- Proficiency in the use of mechanical tools required.
- Must be able to safely drive material handling equipment, tractors, and trailers as necessary/required.
- Good communication skills, written and verbal to communicate and/or document maintenance needs and status of projects.
- Must report for work regularly and on time, as scheduled.
- Must be able to take direction from supervisor(s) and works well with others.
- Must work well under pressure, and is able to organize and prioritize work assignments, and meet established deadlines.
- Must perform assigned tasks accurately and completely.
- Must be flexible and able to handle changes in work requirements productively.
- Basic mechanic tools and toolbox
- Ability to demonstrate and obtain Inspector certification for DOT, and brake inspections.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for basic preventative, routine maintenance to include changing oil, breaks, batteries, etc. for equipment; maintain and complete basic repairs of semi tractors or trailers.
- Meet with supervisor/lead to discuss maintenance and repair orders and priorities, and any issues or conditions which might affect the operation of the equipment.
- Assess the preventive maintenance schedule to ensure equipment maintenance is completed on schedule to avoid major repairs, down time of the equipment’s etc.
- Order replacement parts, ensure that the parts ordered are correct and complete at the time of order.
- Utilize maintenance systems as necessary to ensure timely documentation of maintenance and repairs.
- Maintain a safe working environment and ensure completed work areas are clean.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Commercial Driver’s License (Preferred)
- Hilo License (Preferred)
- One year mechanical/machinery maintenance and/or repair experience or related technical school certificate.
- Ability to obtain forklift certification/CDL if required.
