Requirements
- Knowledge of software development life cycle; ability to use a structured methodology for delivering and managing new or enhanced software products to the marketplace.
- Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
- Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Responsibilities
- Monitor Cost Management dashboards and budgets
- Provide cost analysis and reports to management and peers
- Work with CloudOps Engineers to identify under-utilized resources
- Work with developers to optimize resource utilization
- Work with developers to rationalize cost anomalies and take corrective actions
- Manage and maintain automated cost reporting tools
- Recommend cloud provider cost management/savings
- Partner with internal business units to acquire and implement discount plans
- Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of FinOps experience or at least 5 years of experience in related field.
- Experience with AWS cloud services
- Knowledge of multiple AWS services, including specific experience with Athena, Cost Manager, and Trusted Advisor.
- Experience with AWS tagging and understand how to use tagging for cost allocation and cost tracking purposes
- Experience working with AWS CUR files
- Strong experience with PowerBI and Microsoft Excel
- Strong experience with SQL queries
- AWS and/or FinOps certifications
