Requirements
- 10+ years of public accounting, private equity fund accounting, or private equity fund operations experience
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong analytical skills, detail oriented and highly organized
- Possesses a strong work ethic, professional integrity, and a positive attitude
- Strong oral and written communication and influencing skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and handle multiple projects
Responsibilities
- Liaise with Tax and the Fund Accounting team on transaction accounting; oversee quarterly production of SPV financial statements and trial balances / NAV packs
- Support fund level operating activities including credit facility reports and preparation of quarterly compliance certificates
- Work with Legal and Compliance team to ensure compliance with various fund policies and procedures including LPA limitations, side-letter agreements, and deal certificates
- Prepare fund and investment specific regulatory filings
- Plan, prepare and manage LP distribution process including coordination with deal teams and preparation of LP memos
- Prepare internal reporting for Real Estate COO & CFO on fund metrics; provide analysis and recommend actions
- Oversee entity and expense management, inclusive of fund and entity dissolution processes
- Responsible for the oversight of prompt responses to internal requests, investor requests, auditor requests, and ad hoc projects by the team
- Oversee BREP’s public operations including FMV calculations, custody management, and proxy voting
- Manage, train and develop staff both in the U.S. and India to assist with accounting and operational work
- Coordinate the testing and implementation of initiatives to improve and streamline fund operations functions
Preferred Qualifications
