Requirements
- Must be a U.S Citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance and eligible to obtain a Top Secret.
- Requires High School diploma or equivalent and 3 – 5 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience with one or more: alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN/WAN maintenance, performance management, timing and synchronization, DC power systems, network encryption
- Experience with one or more: IP routing, DWDM, DNS; TDM switching; Optical; Crypto; Timing; GPS
- Ability to work in a team focused, fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to travel extensively with minimal prior notification
- Ability to simultaneously manage a variety of difficult assignments associated with monitoring, controlling, and performing maintenance/troubleshooting on network devices and circuits
- Experience performing site surveys and preparing reports.
- Experience installing and maintaining the following devices/vendors: CISCO, Juniper, Promina, SafeNet, Ciena, Microchip, FEI-Zyfer, Emerson, and Coriant
- Experience analyzing system faults/alarms; troubleshooting and performing diagnostic tests on hardware/circuits to detect problems using provided test equipment
- Experience investigating and recommending methods and techniques for obtaining solutions to network outages.
- Ability to interface seamlessly with vendors for trouble calls.
Responsibilities
- Travel to customer sites to perform inspections, preventative maintenance, network troubleshooting, replacement of failed components, testing of identified issues of network equipment or circuits
- Performs complex and technically in-depth site survey functions at user locations as required to assess/analyze site preparedness and develop implementation plans, power requirements, and associated cost estimates.
- Accomplish the tasks required to deactivate and uninstall DISN equipment and hardware.
- Perform installation test and acceptance (IT&A) of network components and facilitate remote testing with off-site Operations Engineering support.
- The Engineer will oversee installation/de-installation/upgrade/interface actions associated with network, encryption, DC power and timing and synchronization components
- Develop site recommendations to accommodate the expansion of various future mediums (cable, power, equipment, etc.).
- Prepare working engineering project packages and TSIPs for installation teams with installation instructions, power requirements, industry specifications and references, CADD drawings, and BOMs.
- Execute the actions identified in the TSIP to accomplish the tasks required to bring the installed equipment into operational readiness.
- Perform updates to master redline drawings, incorporating sub-contractors’ field redline drawings and ensuring changes are reflected on master documents.
- Coordinates with users, site/base support and facilities personnel, the network manager(s) and controllers, and long haul and local carriers for installation, cutover, activation, deactivation planning, and execution, alerting program leadership to developing issues and opportunities throughout the area of responsibility.
- Work with partners to coordinate project objectives, including site surveys, installations, testing, and site deinstallations, and provide customer-ready deliverable reports upon completion.
- Supports senior staff as required and meets customer requirements and project milestones.
- Provide technical support to customers and other service professionals as required.
- Maintain clear and concise business communication proficiency, both oral and written.
- Submit expenses, timecards, and other administrative tasks within the specified timelines.
- Travel, overtime, and work hours other than Monday-Friday may be required.
- Comply with all applicable U.S. export control, Dangerous Goods shipments, and security regulations.

Preferred Qualifications
- ITIL v3 Foundation Certified
- Infinera/Ciena/Cisco/Juniper Manufacturer certifications
- Candidates located in any of the following states: (Arkansas, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, Ohio, Oklahoma, and Tennessee)
