Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or High School diploma and equivalent relevant work experience required.
  • 5+ years of Property and Casualty Homeowners’ Insurance experience, including field adjusting, required.
  • 2+ years of experience supervising a team of field adjusters, including setting goals and managing performance.
  • 2+ years of experience working directly for an insurance carrier.
  • 3+ years’ experience with Florida insurance laws and Florida good faith claims handling required.
  • Active Florida 6-20 Resident All Lines Adjuster License required.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of insurance-related legal procedures, regulations, and claims processing.
  • Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of property claims practices and legal terminology.
  • Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills.
  • Proven ability to be adaptable and flexible; able to adjust to new requirements or unforeseen issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on excellent customer service.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and allocate resources efficiently.
  • Data-driven, analytical approach necessary.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to professionally interact with team members in other departments.
  • Working knowledge to interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures, and department operational guidelines in daily functions.
  • Proficient in MSO/365 applications such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Superior knowledge of Xactware products
  • Excellent estimating skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily activities of internal field adjusters to include coaching, development, and goal setting/management.
  • Provide leadership to external resources to ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Ensure superior customer service is delivered to each insured throughout the process of handling and/or disposition of claims, by all field adjusting team members.
  • Evaluate claims and rectify policy coverage issues, in excess of internal adjuster authority.
  • Conduct open and closed claim reviews to evaluate and document overall operational performance.
  • Analysis and utilization of KPI reports to drive operational performance.
  • QA approve field reports under direct supervision.
  • Delegate settlement authority as necessary based on internal field adjuster skill and experience.
  • Facilitate the settling of complex claims and process related paperwork.
  • Provide leadership to internal team members and regularly conduct effective and timely structured Performance Feedback sessions.
  • Assist in conducting interviews and make staffing recommendations.
  • Ensure legal compliance, adherence to claims processes, and timely payments.
  • Pursue continued education opportunities to remain abreast of emerging laws or other required changes to insurance-related processes.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
