Requirements

  • Must have U.S. Citizenship with active Top Secret Clearance at time of application, with the ability to obtain SCI
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 9+ years, Masters Degree with 7 years or, PhD with 5 years
  • Experience in Systems Engineering for mission critical space applications
  • Experience with the design, implementation, test, verification, validation, and operation of FMSA and/or Computer Based Control Systems
  • Proficiency in related engineering programs, Microsoft Office or equivalent document generation programs, Microsoft SharePoint or equivalent collaboration tool

Responsibilities

  • Managing technical personnel in the Systems Engineering Directorate
  • Ensuring qualified and experienced personnel are assigned to meet the staffing needs of programs
  • Tracking and executing peer reviews for major program events
  • All aspects of staff management, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching/mentoring, career development, performance management, compensation management, and separation of assigned employees
  • Defining, proposing, managing, and executing efforts for internal research and development
  • Providing cross program collaboration to give Operating Units opportunities to leverage technologies or designs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading, supporting, and/or operating activities for space missions within national security space, space logistics, civil and commercial space, and/or human space exploration
  • Experience in systems engineering functional management or demonstrated leadership experience
  • Experience balancing workforce versus budget and balancing SE staffing for multiple programs
  • Experience developing career development plans for staff at various experience levels
  • Experience with the complete space mission development life cycle
  • Multi-discipline space engineering experience interfacing with team members in any of the traditional Spacecraft subsystems
