Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; advanced degree a plus.
  • 8–12 years of relevant experience in FPGA design, applications engineering, or semiconductor sales/support.
  • Proven expertise with Microsemi/Microchip, Xilinx, or Altera FPGA devices, and strong proficiency in Verilog or VHDL.
  • Hands-on experience with FPGA design tools such as Libero, Vivado, or Quartus, as well as synthesis and simulation EDA tools.
  • Solid understanding of high-speed serial transceivers, PCIe, DDR3/4, LPDDR3/4, and MIPI interfaces.
  • Experience with embedded soft or ASIC-based CPUs (RISC-V or ARM architectures).
  • Board-level design experience, including power supply decoupling, high-speed signal termination, and routing.
  • Strong debugging skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex system-level issues.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Sales and Marketing teams to deliver comprehensive pre-sales and post-sales technical support throughout the client’s journey, from initial engagement to successful deployment of Microchip FPGA solutions.
  • Utilize Microchip’s Client Engagement Process to drive design wins and revenue growth at strategic accounts.
  • Lead in-depth architectural discussions and system-level reviews, demonstrating how Microchip FPGAs and supporting ICs can address client requirements.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in all aspects of programmable logic design, including requirements analysis, HDL development (Verilog/VHDL), simulation, embedded processor integration, synthesis optimization, place-and-route, timing closure, hardware development, and debug.
  • Conduct architectural and board-level schematic reviews and deliver hands-on product training and workshops for clients.
  • Support client development cycles from design-in through post-production, ensuring seamless integration of Microchip FPGA solutions.
  • Collaborate within a global team to develop and execute strategies for key accounts across multiple regions.
  • Provide actionable feedback to Microchip product divisions, quantifying client impact and ROI to inform future investments.
  • Create and deliver compelling technical content, presentations, and seminars for clients, peers, and internal stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in C programming and familiarity with embedded software debug tools (e.g., Keil, IAR, Eclipse) is highly desirable.
  • Experience supporting Aerospace and Defense designs is a significant advantage.
