Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Ensures availability, reliability, and maintenance of mechanical and HVAC systems (e.g., oil free air systems, HVAC systems, chilled water plant, boilers, environmental abatement systems, and environmental compliance exhaust) to support manufacturing, clean room, and research and development activities.
  • Supports daily tactical efforts in safety, reliability, and environmental objectives of facilities mechanical systems.
  • Designs and analyzes mechanical systems, equipment, and packaging and troubleshoots mechanical systems systematic issues and provides evaluation, recommendations, and solutions to resolve problems.
  • Develops engineering scope of work for mechanical projects and provides engineering design review and evaluation of mechanical systems.
  • Conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs, directs support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing, and prototype fabrication, and provides design information to drafting for packaging documentation.
  • Partners with business unit customers and internal customers to provide engineering solutions in support of their equipment and systems.
  • Partners with operations and maintenance service providers to ensure mechanical systems are maintained and operated within specified limits.
  • Develops mechanical systems roadmap and asset replacement strategy to ensure reliability, redundancy, and capacity are available for expansion of existing facilities, renovation, and growth.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • Prior experience transitioning from hands-on roles to system ownership and oversight of vendor-driven maintenance and operations
  • Proven ability to identify, analyze, and resolve immediate and systemic issues with technical equipment
  • Experience utilizing troubleshooting techniques and interpreting P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams)
