Requirements
- Requires accreditation from a technical school or applicable trades
- Ability to operate HVAC equipment, and hand and power tools
- Ability to commit to an after-hours on-call team rotation; 1-hour response time required
- Successfully pass driver’s license background check
- Ability to use Computer Maintenance Management and Building Automation computer software
- Knowledge of basic principles of maintenance and construction
- Possess or able to obtain within six months of hire a Special Boiler’s License
- Requires accreditation from a technical school or applicable trades and at least 2 years of job-related experience
- In lieu of the required education, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis
- Knowledge of general principles of electricity, plumbing, HVAC theory, maintenance, and construction
- Second Class Boiler’s License
Responsibilities
- Assist with the operation, repair, and maintenance of stationary facilities
- Perform preventative maintenance while minimizing disturbance, inconvenience, and risk, and accurately document completed procedures and records of equipment testing results.
- Perform preventative maintenance, basic troubleshooting and repairs as needed.
- Repair and replace faulty electrical equipment.
- Maintain piping and drain systems, clean and snake drains, repair and replace plumbing fixtures, flush-o-meters, faucets, leaking pipes, and drains.
- Ensure doors and door hardware are in good working order, and repair or replace these as needed.
- Perform periodic maintenance on air compressors, fans, pumps, and outdoor equipment.
- Record boiler readings, water temperatures, and usage, and perform troubleshooting and repair problems.
- Repair, move, maintain, and customize office furnishings and equipment.
- Respond to and maintain alarms related to facilities safety.
- Operate, repair, and maintain stationary facilities equipment including boilers, generators, and refrigeration.
- Schedule, coordinate, and perform preventative maintenance while minimizing disturbance, inconvenience, and risk.
- Perform annual boiler inspections and cleanings and ensure safe operation and maintenance.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- CFC Universal Certification
- HVAC Certification
- Knowledge of state and local building and safety codes and OSHA safety standards
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
