Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a minimum of 6 years of equivalent demonstrated experience as a Facilities Engineer.
- Experience in facility management and operations.
- Proven track record of leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of building codes and standards for facility systems, including electrical power, steam generation, fire suppression systems, and air conditioning.
- Demonstrated history of working with vendors and suppliers.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and diagrams.
- Extensive financial management experience, including CAPEX/OPEX projects, forecasting, budgeting, and proficiency with Ariba and SAP systems.
- Outstanding interpersonal and relationship leadership skills to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Availability to work occasional weekends or evenings as needed.
- Ability to travel 50% of the time within the United States.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day to day operation with the service agreement teams, making sure every facility need is properly planned and addressed.
- Act as the single point of contact for the assigned facilities, making sure proper facility services are procured, enhance and develop processes while facilitating issue resolution and team building.
- Collaborate closely with support groups, Safety, Operations, Environmental, Construction, Union partners, etc.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams on new projects and upgrades to existing systems.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to address operational issues related to facility systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with process equipment and manufacturing equipment.
- Thorough understanding of GM’s electrical specifications and design guides.
- Familiarity with various types of GM facilities and processes.
- Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations relevant to facility operations.
- Working knowledge of computer-aided facilities management (CAFM) systems, such as Archibus or Corrigo.
