Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or a GED and 12 years of aircraft maintenance experience. Will consider a bachelor’s degree and minimum of 8 years related military aircraft maintenance; or a master’s degree with 6 years of related military aircraft maintenance, OR a PHD.
  • Must have a minimum of 5-7 years of F-35 or F-22 aircraft experience.
  • Demonstrated, advanced proficiency of Microsoft Office tools
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Have an active DOD Secret security clearance and ability to obtain a Special Access Program clearance.
  • Working knowledge of engineering tools such as CATIA, VAS, PDM.
  • Prior Field Support or military customer support experience.
  • Ability to read detailed engineering blueprints.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the Northrop Grumman technical interface and on-site company representative to the customer in resolving issues arising from operations, maintenance, modifications and other logistics and engineering support activities involving F-35 aircraft SLO and structure systems within established engineering guidelines.
  • Be a self-starter, work without direct supervision.
  • Integrate into a high tempo military operational environment.
  • Provide engineering and aircraft maintenance guidance to military and civilian maintainers and depot technicians and engineers with confidence and authority.
  • Document maintenance activities, collate data to identify emerging failure trends and provide recommendations to reduce aircraft down time, improve maintenance practices and advise on LO and structures system maintenance tasks.
  • Assist customer with resolving complex aircraft maintenance discrepancies / anomalies. Apply comprehensive technical expertise to sole moderate to complex problems.
  • Identify technical issues and recommend solutions to support the F-35 engineering disposition process and technical data updates.
  • Manage, track multiple engineering and logistic support activities, and provide periodic status to customers and program management team.
  • Provide authorized engineering products to supplement published engineering technical data.
  • Combine engineering knowledge with real world maintenance experience.
  • Learn other specialties for total team performance in aircraft build, removal and installation of aircraft components, operational and functional checks, and modification or other maintenance roles.
  • Conduct training and provide product briefings to customers, vendors, and company representatives.
  • Support program technical interchange meetings and program plans development relating to problem analysis, engineering dispositions and in-house technical support.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and engage with aircraft maintainers on a regular basis to resolve maintenance issues that would otherwise lead to aircraft downtime.
  • Work any shift, weekends, overtime and holidays, if necessary, as well as travel on Temporary Duty Assignments (TDY’s) to support F-35 program requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM field.
  • Experience with LO Diagnostic and/or Tier 2 RCS Equipment.
  • Experience with corrosion control and repair methods.
  • Security+ Certification.
  • Prior Field Support or military customer support experience.
  • Working knowledge of engineering tools such as CATIA, VAS, PDM.
  • Master’s Degree in STEM field.
  • Advanced composite and/or structure experience.
  • Intermediate level experience with LO Diagnostic and/or Tier 2 RCS Equipment.
  • Current F-35 Program Access.
