Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3+ years of experience in global mobility, U.S. expat/inpat tax, or business immigration
- Solid understanding of U.S. individual tax rules for international assignments
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills; able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative team player with experience working on global teams
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and self-motivated
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Project management experience
- Strong judgment and ability to escalate issues when needed
- Strategic, independent thinker
- Discreet and respectful of confidential information
Responsibilities
- Support Global Mobility & Immigration team in managing immigration cases and intra-company transfers across the U.S., Canada, and Asia (e.g., Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, China)
- Maintain employee immigration files and required public postings for each individual to ensure all Public Files are created appropriately, maintained and housed
- Track visa statuses via spreadsheets and Workday HRIS
- Coordinate/schedule meetings and calls to discuss employee visa situations
- Monitor U.S. immigration law and global tax updates affecting employee mobility
- Filing/organizing documents into appropriate locations and performing other essential administrative functions
- Proactively manage firm’s global mobility cases, including:
- Support the end-to-end management of international assignments, including tax planning, compliance, and immigration processes
- Prepare and review assignment documentation
- Assist with U.S. income tax return preparation for expats, inpats, and business travelers
- Collaborate with internal teams: Payroll, Compensation/Equity, Finance/ Accounting, and Tax to review packages and allowances
- Develop mobility policies and maintain immigration tracking tools
- Work closely on firm-wide projects and initiatives that span the Generalist space:
- Assist with audits and documents HCG policies and procedures, implementing improvements where needed
- Prepare meeting agendas and related materials
- Ad-hoc projects as necessary/appropriate
