Requirements
- Experience in handling Auto, General, and Liability claims
- Ability to investigate and settle claims promptly and equitably
- Knowledge of claims and policy information
- Skills in contacting and interviewing insureds, claimants, witnesses, and other parties
- Ability to evaluate facts and determine liability
- Experience in preparing reports on investigations and settlements
Responsibilities
- Receives assignments and reviews claim and policy information
- Contacts, interviews, and obtains statements from various parties
- Inspects and appraises damage for property losses
- Evaluates facts to determine extent of liability
- Prepares reports on investigations and settlements
- Sets reserves within authority limits and recommends changes
- Reviews progress and status of claims with Team Leader
- Prepares and submits unusual or undesirable exposures to Team Leader
- Assists Team Leader in developing methods for handling claims
- Settles claims promptly and equitably
- Obtains releases, proofs of loss, or compensation agreements
