Requirements

  • Technical School certification from an accredited program in Health Science, Electrophysiology, Cardiovascular Technology, or related field required
  • Associate Degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, Nursing, or related field required
  • 0-2 years of experience in an electrophysiology or cardiac catheterization lab required
  • Proficient in electrophysiology procedures, hemodynamic monitoring, and ACLS protocols
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and radiation safety protocols
  • Ability to effectively operate and troubleshoot electrophysiology equipment
  • Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • BCLS – Basic Life Support required
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support required

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Electrophysiologist and Cardiology team during electrophysiology procedures, performing scrub, hemodynamic monitoring, and circulating duties
  • Monitors and assesses patient status, managing cardiovascular hemodynamics, and initiating Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) protocols as necessary
  • Operates and troubleshoots electrophysiology equipment, including cardiac stimulators, ensuring proper setup and functionality for each procedure
  • Provides pre- and post-procedural patient care, including assessments and instruction to ensure patient comfort and safety
  • Demonstrates proficiency in radiation safety protocols and maintains a thorough understanding of interventional supplies, anatomy, physiology, and equipment operation
  • Recognizes and resolves equipment issues promptly, maintaining accurate records and images in the electronic health system
  • Assumes on-call responsibilities as required and assists in maintaining procedural room readiness
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • RCES – Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist preferred
  • RCVT – Registered Cardiovasc Technologist preferred
