Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Petrochemical or Oil & Gas Industry
- B.S. Degree in environmental or Chemical Engineering, environmental Sciences or equivalent
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational and planning skills, facilitation skills, computer skills
- The ability to achieve results through others
- Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate teams involving diverse work groups.
Responsibilities
- Drive to assure overall environmental compliance for the site
- Establish and set environmental policy for the facility as warranted
- Provide support to develop, execute, and maintain site compliance with permits and other regulatory requirements.
- Obtain and modify operating permits in a proactive way to support Ascend’s business requirements
- Track key compliance metrics and implement systems to improve performance
- Maintaining a favorable image with communities, regulatory agencies and other companies through active involvement with the FDEP, EPA, and additional stakeholders
- Participate in environmental audits at other plants and on corporate-wide environmental networks to develop and update environmental related requirements and procedures.
- Manage the technical activities of air, waste, and water regulations as they pertain to the site
- Maintain compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulations/standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Environmental management experience is a plus
- Proactive leadership and team building skills with the ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization
- Ability to think on a strategic and tactical level
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects
