Environmental Claims Representative

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with major in the environmental field from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Three (3) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required to include two (2) years of claims management and/or environmental claims examiner experience preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of claims management processes and procedures
• Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills
• PC literate, including Microsoft Office products
• Analytical and interpretive skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent negotiating skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies

Responsibilities

• Performs financial review of claims and makes claim payment recommendations.
• Performs technical review of claims and all supporting documentation to determine eligibility of claimed activities and materials.
• Monitors reserves and deductibles for each claim.
• Documents claim processing.
• Maintains relationships with claimants and client staff.
• Corresponds directly with claimants and consultants regarding claims.
• Interprets reports provided to the state Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Supports the organization’s quality program(s).
