Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Environmental Science, or another related discipline.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a Quality control laboratory and or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management.
  • Must be able to organize and prioritize to accommodate crucial deadlines.
  • Knowledgeable of computer software programs, including spreadsheets, databases, and other Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Access).
  • Experience with inorganic and organic laboratory methods, including PFAS, QA/QC elements, and record keeping.
  • Experience with environmental data validation practices/policies/procedures, especially the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency National Functional Guidelines for Data Review.
  • Experience with environmental databases such as ERPIMS, EQuIS, ADR.net, or FUDSChem, or data management software such as MS Access and SQL.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with environmental/engineering tasks for site investigation and remediation projects.
  • Support the characterization of contaminated sites, remediation system design and operation, system monitoring, data management/tracking and reporting.
  • Review and validate laboratory data packages by United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) guidance to ensure compliance with published analytical methods and usability of environmental data.
  • Collaborate and review on environmental project QAPPs.
  • Compose, review, and critique technical reports.
  • Upload laboratory analytical data to specific client and regulatory databases.
  • Assist with and prepare portions of written reports, tables, spreadsheets and presentations.
  • Prepare technical memoranda and white papers to be included in client deliverables.
  • Implement innovation and automation tools produced by the team.
  • Manage workloads assigned by chemistry staff within stipulated time.
  • Support quality assurance/quality control, data management, data analysis, and various analytical chemistry aspects of environmental investigations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient in stage 2 data validation. Experience in stage 3 validation is a value add for this role, but not mandatory.
