Requirements
- Six (6) years of information systems experience in: supporting, configuring and administering an enterprise class storage environment.
- An Associate’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field; AND four (4) years of information systems experience in: supporting, configuring and administering an enterprise class storage environment.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field AND two (2) years of information systems experience in: supporting, configuring and administering an enterprise class storage environment.
- Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field may substitute for all of the above.
Responsibilities
- Provide a high level of technical expertise in support of enterprise storage for the mid-range and distributed systems computing environment of most state agencies.
- Specialize in customer service, storage allocation, configuration, performance and capacity monitoring.
- Responsible for the day-to-day health of the storage infrastructure and for ensuring that its availability remains within the parameters of the State Data Centers service level commitments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a VMware hypervisor environment.
- Strong technical analytical skills in a secure data-center environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in Project Management processes.
- Proven ability and skill to clearly explain complex/technical concepts in terms that are understandable for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated skill and ability to collaborate with teammates and build positive business relationships with superiors, subordinates, peers, and others outside of their organization.
- Demonstrated experience and skill working with the following storage system related products: VSANs, Fibre channel Protocol and architecture, FCIP, Fibre-channel SAN hardware and infrastructure, Hitachi enterprise storage systems, Hitachi modular storage systems, Disk performance and analysis, RAID levels, LUN management, Storage replication, File and filesystem replication, Hitachi Command Suite, Hitachi Storage Navigator, Hitachi Hi Command CLI.
