Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in trades and maintenance within a resort or commercial environment.
  • Written and verbal communication in English is expected.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • CPO (Certified Pool Operator) license required by the resort.
  • Universal EPA HVAC license required by the resort.
  • Regularly, the team member must lift, move, push, or pull up to 50+ pounds.
  • Strong communication skills required to excel in interactions with guests and colleagues.
  • Ability to be versatile, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work with enthusiasm and focus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and lead engineering projects, guest calls, blitzes, repairs, and preventive maintenance as directed by resort management.
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure safe and proper operation of MEP systems following resort guidelines.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and replacement of HVAC and mechanical components.
  • Diagnose plumbing fixtures, handle clogs, and conduct repairs and equipment replacements.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting and repairing electrical components, such as breakers and contactors.
  • Repair and troubleshoot appliances and household fixtures.
  • Install, repair, and replace tiles, grout, vinyl, and carpet as needed.
  • Lead small construction projects, including drywall, carpentry, concrete, and flooring.
  • Work with pools, spas, and water features, including chemical balancing and maintenance of all MEP equipment.
  • Participate actively in procurement and inventory processes to ensure materials and tools are available for work.
  • Proficient in operating resort operations software and devices (HotSOS and other applicable systems).
  • Read and interpret technical data, blueprints, and OEM manuals.
  • Communicate professionally via radios, phones, emails, and verbal interactions.
  • Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks as required by resort management.
  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, and battery-powered tools needed for the job.
  • Work using ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
  • Lead and implement safety practices and guidelines.
  • Recognize and identify potential safety hazards on the property.
  • Communicate and interpret guest needs with positive interactions to reach resolutions.
  • Adhere to all CFI/Westgate Resorts policies and procedures.
  • Always represent Westgate Resorts professionally through appearance, attire, and behavior.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by resort operations leadership.
