Requirements

  • Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.
  • Extensive knowledge in relevant complex system and component design/development.
  • Proficient in ProE/Creo Design and Teamcenter.
  • Proficient in Engine Installation &/or Cooling design, familiar with machine design.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to be a self-starter with strong technical leadership skills.
  • Knowledgeable in industry standards related to construction and mining machine design along with engine/cooling regulations.
  • Caterpillar or Large Construction OEM design knowledge.
  • Capability to manage a local and international team of engineers to design and develop technical systems.
  • Good interpersonal, teamwork and collaboration skills to work with product, system, and component teams.
  • Ability to develop and manage budgets for engineering projects.
  • Ability to troubleshoot root cause for complicated technical problems.
  • Capable of identifying multiple solutions and selecting the best option to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of engineers in the United States and India, providing technical and developmental guidance in the design, development, and build of engine and cooling installations for Large Wheel Loaders/Wheel Dozer Compactors being assembled in three global facilities.
  • Coach the team to develop their technical expertise.
  • Work with management to coordinate resources from global engineering partners to ensure successful execution of projects.
  • Coordinate the E/PIC quality improvement efforts for LWL/WDC. This includes guiding the team to develop interim and permanent improvements.
  • Work with the WPE E/PIC Technical Expert and other team leads to develop ‘best practice’ processes and tools to enable sustainable improvement and excellence in product development.
  • Collaborate with Product and Factory teams to establish team and program priorities.
