Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science.
- Knowledge of major products and services and product and service groups; ability to apply knowledge of product and service appropriately to diverse situations.
- Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
- Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to use these to deepen own expertise and impact or challenge decisions within and outside own organization.
- Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Identifying and implementing integrated supply chain solutions and performance improvements, including building internal and external alliances to explore opportunities.
- Interface with internal and external manufacturing sources of supply to track volume and spend information.
- Assess Single Source Risk (SSR) at component and group level product.
- Continue to improve Wear Components automated system accuracy that calculates single source risk and region of consumption.
- Continually update forecasting tool with newly released P/N’s and value stream capacity changes.
- Leading Wear Supply Optimization related efforts and interface directly with supporting MFS teams.
- Develop project scope to address business challenges and opportunities.
- Coordinating resources across the businesses with sales and marketing, product development groups, value chain and manufacturing.
- Overseeing project progress and costs; communicating status with stakeholders and participating functional areas; addressing and resolving problems.
- Directing project staffing; motivating and developing project team and team members.
- Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in Logistics, Engineering, Product Service, or Supply Chain functional roles.
- Previous experience using engineering systems and reading prints and bills-of-material.
