Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field from an accredited school.
- One (1) year of utility planning experience demonstrating responsibility for the coordination of tasks in civil engineering or municipal capital improvement projects.
Responsibilities
- Performs engineering analysis, troubleshooting, and capacity forecast of wastewater (gravity sewer and forcemain) collection and water systems under the direction and supervision of a Senior Engineer.
- Utilization of InfoWorks ICM models for wastewater system analysis.
- Analyzes wastewater collection system to evaluate existing and future capacity needs based on current service requests and future projections.
- Utilization of ArcGIS analysis for wastewater infrastructure and planning data.
- Assists with dashboard creation and maintenance (Power BI and/or Tableau).
- Assists with the Capital Improvement Program (CIP), developing individual CIP project descriptions and cost estimates, and assisting with CIP budget coordination.
- Assists with data compilation and regulatory reporting functions.
- Oversees contracted third-party service providers to ensure timely and quality delivery of services; inspects completed work to ensure compliance with contracts; works to resolve problems; and monitors and ensures compliance.
- Assists in data verification and field inspections and tests, including manhole inspection, flow testing, pressure monitoring, and distribution valve operation.
- Communicate with internal and external clients.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred certification as an Engineering Intern (EI or EIT) or equivalent credentials in the field of specialty (or ability to obtain certification within one year of hire).
- Five (5) years of utility planning experience demonstrating responsibility for the coordination of tasks in civil engineering or municipal capital improvement projects.
