Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline) with 5 years of engineering experience; OR a Master’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline) with 3 years of engineering experience.
  • Experience in functional/people management.
  • Ability to work onsite at Sunnyvale, CA for a minimum of 4 days per week.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project and technical oversight of design activities performed by the group.
  • Prepare cost estimates, provide proposal inputs, and review proposal content for both internal and external customers.
  • Increasing machinery design engineering competencies through employee development and strategic hiring.
  • Balancing employee needs with business goals.
  • Provide ownership of and direction to the design processes used in the group.
  • Basic understanding of the Design, Manufacturing and Test Integration process.
  • Support department initiatives, forecasting and recruiting, technology roadmap creation, and champion continuous process improvements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a Technical Lead, Project Manager, or other demonstrated leadership role related to program execution.
  • Experience with requirements and interface management and verification.
  • Experience with design of fabricated and machined components, or design of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic subsystems.
  • Technical project management experience with proven successful execution of technical projects to cost and schedule targets.
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP).
  • Understanding and knowledge of Agile (SCRUM) techniques and activities.
  • Knowledge of Design Engineering processes, procedures and work instructions required to support both management and engineering tasks.
  • Experience with proposals and Earned Value Management (EVM).
