Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline) with 5 years of engineering experience; OR a Master’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline) with 3 years of engineering experience.
- Experience in functional/people management.
- Ability to work onsite at Sunnyvale, CA for a minimum of 4 days per week.
- US Citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
Responsibilities
- Provide project and technical oversight of design activities performed by the group.
- Prepare cost estimates, provide proposal inputs, and review proposal content for both internal and external customers.
- Increasing machinery design engineering competencies through employee development and strategic hiring.
- Balancing employee needs with business goals.
- Provide ownership of and direction to the design processes used in the group.
- Basic understanding of the Design, Manufacturing and Test Integration process.
- Support department initiatives, forecasting and recruiting, technology roadmap creation, and champion continuous process improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a Technical Lead, Project Manager, or other demonstrated leadership role related to program execution.
- Experience with requirements and interface management and verification.
- Experience with design of fabricated and machined components, or design of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic subsystems.
- Technical project management experience with proven successful execution of technical projects to cost and schedule targets.
- Project Management Professional Certification (PMP).
- Understanding and knowledge of Agile (SCRUM) techniques and activities.
- Knowledge of Design Engineering processes, procedures and work instructions required to support both management and engineering tasks.
- Experience with proposals and Earned Value Management (EVM).
