Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Five (5+) or more years of experience required
  • Proven experience in battery materials research and development required
  • Strong understanding of electrochemistry and battery engineering principles
  • Experience with material characterization techniques and testing methods

Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day Engineering of the battery
  • Execute tasks associated with the launch, new product introduction, and industrialization of new battery designs
  • Own battery-related troubleshooting & issue resolution
  • Oversee the testing, implementation, documentation, and industrialization of the battery and materials
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address issues from design-for-manufacturing (DFM), design-for-assembly (DFA), and design-for-service (DFS) workshops
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in battery technology
  • Work closely with the research and development team on testing, documentation, and introduction of battery materials to production
  • Act as the single point of contact for all questions regarding the battery and its components
  • Work closely with R&D, design, supply chain, quality, field service, advanced manufacturing, and production teams
  • Act as the voice of the advanced manufacturing, quality, field service, and production teams
  • Help develop and implement testing protocols to evaluate material properties and battery performance
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other engineers and team members
