Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following disciplines: nuclear engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or similar technical field from an accredited institution.
  • 2+ years of experience certifying, regulating, qualifying or auditing hardware that was manufactured, deployed, and iteratively improved.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation abilities; ability to navigate regulatory conversations effectively and write technical documentation.
  • Applied understanding of requirement derivation, negotiation and verification or experience with the product design process especially as it relates to defining systems, interfaces and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Own end to end licensing execution efforts required to fulfill an application deliverable, ranging from detailed safety analysis to a physical protection plan.
  • Facilitate collaborative and cohesive partnerships with internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies (NRC) to drive desirable results using streamlined, modern regulatory approaches.
  • Oversee execution by technical teams including design reviews and regulatory and quality documentation; organize their inputs into data products and reports; raise regulatory concerns and see through timely and successful resolution.
  • Proactively review approaches and decisions as they relate to regulatory efforts to ensure adherence to Radiant’s novel and efficient licensing paths.
  • Ensure completeness, timeliness, and quality of licensing and regulatory submissions.
  • Write software scripts to automate and produce data analysis and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment with strict regulatory oversight.
  • Experience working on a nuclear project with DOE or NRC regulation.
  • Experience tailoring or implementing NQA-1, ISO9001, AS9100, or other industrial standards.
  • Experience owning, designing, building, or testing hardware that has seen production.
  • Ability to apply fundamental engineering principles to regulatory efforts.
  • Strong ability to lead issues through resolution that may be ambiguous or uncertain in nature.
  • Excellent project management skills and experience in driving schedules forward.
