Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Science
  • 8 years of related work experience with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Science
  • 6 years of related work experience with a MS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Science
  • 4 years of related work experience with a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Science
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment as part of a multi-discipline team
  • Must be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret clearance. U.S. citizenship is a prerequisite.

Responsibilities

  • Analysis model formulation and FEA or CFD solution using Abaqus or Fluent
  • Providing technical assessments of results and giving design guidance with specialized knowledge of mechanics of materials for orthotropic, hyperelastic, and viscoelastic materials
  • Reporting of analysis results in written and oral formats
  • Peer reviewing of other analysts work products, including efforts at other corporate business locations
  • Interfacing with internal/external customers and with support personnel in design and testing
  • Travel is typically required less than once a year.

  • Advanced knowledge of composite materials failure analysis
  • Advanced knowledge of steady state and transient dynamic analysis
  • Advanced knowledge of progressive damage analysis
  • Advanced knowledge of viscoelastic and hyperelastic material modeling
  • Advanced knowledge of adhesives and adhesive joints
  • Advanced knowledge of thermal heat transfer analysis
  • Advanced knowledge of CFD
  • Proficiency with Siemens NX
  • Script writing, workflow automation
  • Constitutive model development and implementation
  • Previous experience in aerospace manufacturing facility
