Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 1 years of experience, or a PhD and 0 years of experience
  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope
  • Experience with Autopilot design for guided missiles
  • Proficiency in creating and maintaining analysis tools in C++, MATLAB and Python
  • Proficiency in C++ development in a Linux environment
  • Proficiency in MATLAB and Python toolchains
  • Experience with high fidelity 6DoF simulation for guided missiles
  • Experience working with missile guidance and autopilot algorithms
  • Travel 10% of the time

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, implements, verifies and tests algorithms and software and simulation tools to perform guidance, navigation and control of aircraft, spacecraft, submersibles, surface ships, missiles, launch vehicles and upper stages during powered and coast phases of launch, flight, earth orbit, interplanetary cruise and orbital insertion, as well as during staging events
  • Navigation functions include the statistical processing of measured data points and their substitution into algorithms simulating physical reality
  • Guidance functions include the formulation of specific equations to achieve a desired position, orientation or orbit in space
  • Control design and analyses processes consist of the development of control laws and hardware and software requirements for aircraft, launch vehicles and/or spacecraft
  • The Engineer/Principal GNC Engineer will design, develop, implement, verify, and test high-quality software and simulation toolchains
  • The candidate will be working on a 6 degree of freedom (6DOF) simulation to design and test missile flight code
  • The applicant will be creating and implementing 6DoF simulation models to evaluate system performance
  • The candidate will perform mission analysis on flight test and tactical systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on hypersonic missiles
  • Experience with AEGIS weapon system
  • Experience with IR discrimination and tracking
