Requirements
- MS in Civil Engineering with specialization in Structural or Geotechnical Engineering.
- Engineer-in-training (EIT) registration or the ability to obtain within 1 year.
- 0-2 years of professional experience.
- Prior exposure to field engineering, preferably 1-2 years of experience, including field inspections and monitoring of contractor compliance; emphasis on underground construction preferred.
- Knowledge of field evaluation of soils is a plus.
- Effective oral and written communication skills including the ability to effectively summarize key observations in formal reports, presentations, e-mails, and orally.
- Willingness to travel and spend 30-50% or more of time conducting field inspections.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces including underground pipes. Safety training is provided.
- Must be able to travel by plane and car. Must have a valid US driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
Responsibilities
- Generate or check structural analysis calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications.
- Conduct field investigations and inspections, monitor field construction, and write inspection reports under the supervision/direction of senior staff.
- Plan and monitor laboratory investigations.
- Assist with client communication pertaining to specific assignments or meetings.
Preferred Qualifications
