Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline required.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
Responsibilities
- Conducts and/or reviews modeling, planning, and engineering studies in support of routine project analysis and design, and provides technical support during construction; prepares reports detailing the quantitative analysis performed and concluding recommendations; and reviews and verifies engineering calculations and analysis submitted by engineering technicians.
- Conducts a programming assessment to determine project requirements; and participates in the development of lists of potential infrastructure improvement projects to be included in the capital investment plan for the program or division.
- Develops preliminary/final plans and designs using CAD and other engineering/drafting tools; and develops engineering specifications for project construction based on programming assessment, design concepts, fundamental engineering principles, and approved preliminary plan.
- May provide limited direction or oversight to engineering and drafting technicians assigned to a project.
- Calculates cost estimates and identifies resources needed for projects.
- Facilitates communication between the property owner, project manager, contractors, other governmental agencies, the public, and other interested parties.
