Requirements
- Knowledge and demonstrated application of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of design engineering
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with large manufacturing equipment, preferably in the food and beverage industry
- Ability to manage multiple projects / assignments simultaneously
- Skilled in team building and demonstrated experience in effectively working with cross functional teams to get positive results
- Demonstrated experience in analysis and complex problem solving
- Working knowledge & programming experience in PLC’s and HMI’s, preferably in Allen Bradley
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD or SolidWorks
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, industrial or manufacturing highly preferred)
- Understand electrical and P&ID drawings
- Basic knowledge of AC and DC voltage systems and the ability to troubleshoot.
Responsibilities
- Work with all levels/departments in the facility to identify and implement manufacturing processes along with automation improvements.
- Increase productivity of production, auxiliary, and overall facility equipment to create streamlined and effective processes.
- Troubleshoot failures associated with any of the electrical and mechanical systems.
- Support the Maintenance team to ensure the methods to properly maintain equipment are understood and executed.
- Complete beginning to end planning, direction, and coordination of all engineering projects with detailed plans to accomplish goals and oversee the integration of technical and mechanical activities.
- Prepare design layouts for review by various stakeholders.
- Maintain as-built, facility layouts, piping and instrumentation drawings.
- Provide guidance and inspire the work of our maintenance tribe, collaborating closely on the training and development of maintenance staff competencies.
- Develop, document, and implement policies, standards and procedures for the preventative maintenance, engineering and technical work performed.
- Participate in or lead mandatory design reviews and Management of Change (MOC) analysis for the ammonia refrigeration and other systems.
- Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, and making decisions regarding purchases of materials or services.
- Ability to convey complex topics effectively.
- Provide remote help to the maintenance staff at all plant locations.
- Work with the Engineering team to assist the plants outside of working hours.
- Travel up to 25% required.
