Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must hold or obtain a ASME Provisional License
- Must pass Site-Specific Operator’s License within 6 months of employment
- A background in power plant operations is required, including a minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience and/or supervisory oversight of power plant machinery
- Ability to work flexible shifts as needed to ensure continuous staffing of the facility 24/7, year-round
- Comprehensive knowledge of steam-generating power stations, including operation of instrument and control systems
- Well-developed troubleshooting skills for equipment and systems, along with expertise in training personnel and interpreting diagrams
- Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities are essential.
Responsibilities
- Review, prioritize and direct the daily work activities of the operations group during their assigned shift
- Supervises, monitors, trains, and develops performance of plant personnel to ensure safe, efficient and productive operation of plant and equipment
- Enforce the safety procedures and policies for the Operations Department and other support teams
- Initiate emergency response procedures as needed to ensure safety and compliance in unexpected situations
- Actively oversee facility production and maintenance activities, supporting the planning and execution of both scheduled and unscheduled outages while ensuring the timely completion of operational tasks
- Assist in identifying and recommending improvements to enhance plant operations and efficiency
- Collaborate with representatives from various departments to address and resolve operational, administrative, organizational, and technical challenges
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field is preferred
- Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Continuous Emissions Monitoring (CEM) equipment is preferred.
