Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must hold or obtain a ASME Provisional License
  • Must pass Site-Specific Operator’s License within 6 months of employment
  • A background in power plant operations is required, including a minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience and/or supervisory oversight of power plant machinery
  • Ability to work flexible shifts as needed to ensure continuous staffing of the facility 24/7, year-round
  • Comprehensive knowledge of steam-generating power stations, including operation of instrument and control systems
  • Well-developed troubleshooting skills for equipment and systems, along with expertise in training personnel and interpreting diagrams
  • Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Review, prioritize and direct the daily work activities of the operations group during their assigned shift
  • Supervises, monitors, trains, and develops performance of plant personnel to ensure safe, efficient and productive operation of plant and equipment
  • Enforce the safety procedures and policies for the Operations Department and other support teams
  • Initiate emergency response procedures as needed to ensure safety and compliance in unexpected situations
  • Actively oversee facility production and maintenance activities, supporting the planning and execution of both scheduled and unscheduled outages while ensuring the timely completion of operational tasks
  • Assist in identifying and recommending improvements to enhance plant operations and efficiency
  • Collaborate with representatives from various departments to address and resolve operational, administrative, organizational, and technical challenges
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field is preferred
  • Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Continuous Emissions Monitoring (CEM) equipment is preferred.
