Requirements

  • Four years of energy analyst experience, including developing, evaluating, and measuring energy and water-related projects or programs; Or
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Business, Construction Management, Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy Engineering, or a closely related field
  • An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver’s license by the time of hire

Responsibilities

  • Conduct facility observations, inspections, and audits on utility usage data to identify energy and water conservation opportunities and options
  • Perform, review, and approve utility benchmarking, EPA Energy Star participation and disclosure, and plan reviews
  • Utilize EnergyCAP software to monitor and analyze utility usage in County facilities, with the ability to interpret trends and create graphical presentations, and feasibility of options
  • Outreach to Department liaisons promoting the use of FMD-related conservation practices, measures, and technologies
  • Make recommendations for the energy-efficient design, construction, or remodeling phases of new projects
  • Utility rebate and Federal, State, and local grant opportunities for renewable energy and resource conservation are researched and pursued where applicable; assist with FMD Construction/Renovation/Rebates
  • Participates in the ongoing Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Plan by reviewing the feasibility of renovation and construction requirements for electrical and facility infrastructure
  • Participate in Research/Outreach/Sustainability Program Development
  • Complete industry research, analysis of technologies, data collection, and promote awareness and use of renewable energy, conservation, and other sustainability-related measures
  • Ability to communicate various purchasing and contracting mechanisms for the use and procurement of renewable energy and conservation strategies to Department leaders
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or a closely related field
  • Two or more years of experience in fundamental energy analysis
  • Experience in facility design, construction, or management
