Requirements

  • BA/BSc in humanitarian studies or similar fields or relevant practical experience, MA Preferred
  • Medical training required
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Driver’s License with no significant infractions in the last 5 years
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a clinical setting or humanitarian response field in a leadership role

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with local government agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and community-based organizations to ensure the effective delivery of medical services and essential supplies to all individuals in crisis situations
  • Working closely with CORE’s program and emergency response departments to align projects and activities with the organization’s broader emergency response strategy, ensuring a cohesive and effective approach to aid delivery.
  • Leading and managing a response team of 3-5 members, overseeing the implementation of activities while ensuring compliance with CORE’s safety and security protocols as well as those of local authorities. This includes direct supervision of the Medical Assessment Team during deployments, ensuring that all medical interventions are carried out efficiently and compassionately.
  • Conducting performance reviews, providing training to staff as necessary, and fostering a team environment that encourages professional growth and high performance.
  • In coordination with CORE’s procurement department Identifying and securing the necessary goods and services for response team activities, including medical supplies and logistics for deployments.
  • Preparing and submitting program reports, monitoring budgets and expenses to ensure efficient use of resources.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical admin experience preferred
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Secondary language
  • In-depth knowledge of emergency medicine, public health principles, and hands-on experience with medical assessments, wellness checks, and possibly vaccine administration in diverse and challenging environments.
  • Good communication skills and convincing presenter.

  • Strong public relations skills and network building.
  • Good training and facilitation skills.
  • Strong leadership skills in high-stress situations.
