Requirements
- Associate’s degree in physical sciences or healthcare related sciences or equivalent education/experience
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
- ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support (if applicable)
- Thorough knowledge and practice in 3D mapping, bloom stimulator, stereotaxis and intracardiac echo
- Proficiency in programmed electrical stimulation and pacing protocols
- Proficiency in pacemaker and defibrillator interrogation and programming
- Knowledge of intra-cardiac echo, advanced knowledge and experience in pacing and cardiac rhythm management devices
- Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly
Responsibilities
- Works interdependently with physician’s oversight in the technical management of implanted cardiac pacemaker and implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) devices
- Provides quality care to patients undergoing invasive Electrophysiology (EP) procedures and related surgical procedures
- Assists the electrophysiologist during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Manages device patients and their care and implements treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and other members of the health care team
- Performs adjustments to programming per order and troubleshoots basic, intermediate and advanced device issues
- Participates in ongoing technical training on advanced mapping techniques and may train and orient newly hired EP personnel
