Requirements
- Bachelors degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science or related discipline and 2-3 years of experience in lab based chemistry project or technology development
- Demonstrated experience in aqueous chemistry and characterization (ICP-OES, titrations, turbidity etc), statistical data analysis, design for manufacturing, DFMEA framework, and process control methods
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal and external electrolyte manufacturing and quality teams to advise on formulation processes and quality control
- Design and execute experiments to study the impact of electrolyte formulation on battery cell performance and cost entitlement
- Contribute to and maintain an up to date electrolyte FMEA
- Use JMP and python scripts to quantitatively analyze and visualize data
- Work with materials engineers, chemical engineers, mechanical engineers, electrochemists, and a team of technicians to integrate learnings across the technical development team
Preferred Qualifications
- An ideal candidate shows a high attention to detail, enjoys a fast-paced environment, is highly collaborative, and is looking for a combination of in lab hands-on and computer work
- Familiarity with general battery concepts and JMP or other statistical software is a plus
