Requirements

  • High school diploma or Equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Pass a background check.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and sunlight.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying heavy equipment and materials, including solar panels and mounting hardware.
  • Comfortable working at heights, such as on rooftops or elevated structures, while adhering to proper safety protocols.
  • Stamina and endurance to perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday.
  • Willingness to travel as needed (to be discussed in interview)

Responsibilities

  • Installation of Solar Panels: Execute the assembly and mounting of solar panels on various structures, ensuring optimal placement for maximum energy capture and efficiency.
  • Electrical Wiring and Connection: Connect solar panels to electrical systems, including inverters, batteries, and grid interconnection points. Ensure compliance with local electrical codes and safety standards.
  • System Testing and Commissioning: Conduct thorough testing of solar energy systems to verify proper functionality and performance. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during installation or commissioning.
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance tasks on solar panels and associated equipment, such as cleaning, inspection, and system optimization. Diagnose and repair faults or malfunctions to restore system efficiency.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of installation activities, including equipment specifications, wiring diagrams, and test results. Generate reports detailing system performance and any maintenance or repair work completed.
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients to explain system operation, maintenance requirements, and troubleshooting procedures. Address any concerns or questions regarding solar energy systems in a professional manner.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines throughout the installation, maintenance, and repair processes. Identify potential hazards and implement appropriate measures to minimize risks to personnel and property.
  • Continued Learning and Development: Stay updated on industry advancements, new technologies, and best practices related to solar energy systems. Participate in training programs and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possession of relevant certifications, such as a journeyman electrician license, NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) certification, or OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) training, is preferred.
