Requirements
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent technical certification.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience as an Electrical Test Technician, with a strong emphasis on building and operating test loops in a product development or industrial environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in wiring and configuring instrumentation and control systems.
- Solid understanding of electrical principles, including AC/DC circuits, signal transmission, and grounding techniques.
- Proficiency in using various electrical test equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
- Experience with data acquisition systems and analysis software.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain test loops, including the selection, installation, and wiring of instrumentation and control components such as sensors, actuators, valves, and controllers.
- Interpret P&IDs and electrical schematics to accurately connect devices.
- Select and install appropriate wiring, connectors, and cabling for various signals and environments.
- Ensure proper grounding and shielding to minimize noise and interference.
- Configure and calibrate a wide range of instrumentation and control devices, including pressure sensors, flow meters, temperature transmitters, and control valves.
- Set up and operate data acquisition systems to collect and analyze test data from various sensors and instruments.
- Select appropriate sampling rates and data logging parameters.
- Use software tools to visualize and analyze data, identify trends, and generate reports.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to instrumentation, control systems, and electrical circuits within the test loop.
- Work closely with engineers to define test parameters, execute test plans, and analyze results.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Accurately document test setups, procedures, and results.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with industrial automation systems (PLCs, DCS) is a plus.
