Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Electrical / instrumentation apprentice, certificate, and / or related technical associate’s degree considered assets.
- 2 years of prior gas plant, refinery, pipeline, or oilfield experience.
- Experience with maintenance management systems considered an asset.
- Able to speak, read, and write English and perform basic math.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams) and ability to complete computer-based training.
- Able to successfully complete company Haz-Mat and required safety training; willing to complete any additional required training and certifications.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work in demanding conditions that include being outdoors in all weather.
- Able to respond to call outs for coverage and emergencies.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks.
- Compliance with the company’s Drug & Alcohol Policy including pre-employment testing.
- Valid state driver’s license and driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, install, and commission electrical equipment such as instrumentation, motor control centers, motors, switchgear, VFDs, MOVs, HVACs, and other electrical equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Install, program, and commission various PLCs, communications equipment, and HMIs.
- Inspect and test the operation of instrumentation and systems.
- Provide electrical support and maintenance to ensure system reliability.
- Provide technical input and scope development for operations and projects as required.
- Develop and execute equipment lockouts.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and complete test and maintenance reports.
- Complete all written and electronic records (i.e., work orders, calibration sheets, time entry, material requests, drawing updates) required to document work in progress and completed.
- Consult manufacturer’s manuals, circuit diagrams, and blueprints to create test and maintenance procedures.
- Complete all required safety and technical training, comply with OHS regulations, and accept responsibility for own safety performance.
- Provide on-call support during non-business hours for emergency response and maintenance break-ins.
Preferred Qualifications
- Electrical / instrumentation apprentice, certificate, and / or related technical associate’s degree considered assets.
- Experience with maintenance management systems considered an asset.
