Requirements
- Must have a degree in an engineering discipline, electrical preferred
- Must be proficient in AutoCAD
- Must know how to read and interpret electrical schematics
Responsibilities
- Review client RFQs including electrical schematics, P&IDs, process descriptions and equipment specifications to develop electrical scope of work
- Develop Bill of Material (BOM) in accordance with client specifications
- Research and solicit component cost and availability
- Assess labor hours required for design and fabrication
- Develop total system cost and selling price and review with management
- Produce formal proposal to client including detailed descriptions of scope of work
- Review and verify acceptance of client order in accordance with our Terms and Conditions
- Assess necessary calculations such as circuit loading, transformer sizing etc. as required
- Specify equipment through vendors in accordance with client specifications and submit for approval
- Produce Electrical Drawings with AutoCAD software
- Participate in design review meetings as required
- Submit drawings for approval to client and address changes upon request
- Submit Components for purchase to Purchasing Administrator
- Interact with production personnel to define and solve manufacturing/design issues
- Manage fabrication of project through close coordination with client, Shop Superintendent, Quality Manager and other staff
- Manage FAT Testing in accordance with client specifications
- Interact with client regarding scope, schedule and requesting of information as needed
- Interact with vendors regarding component selection, pricing and delivery
- On-site start up assistance as required
- Coordinate with purchasing, quality, sales, and production
- Advise Manager of work status, workload, problems and progress as related to work assignments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment, preferably in the customization assembly process of control panels
- Bachelor’s degree (B. S.) or Associates degree (A.S.) in Electrical or Mechatronics from a College or University; or equivalent experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
